Navel Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
This variety of orange tree is very vigorous. The fruit is
very large, seedless and of excellent quality. The fruit contains
a good quantity of juice. Harvest of the fruit is after November,
but the oranges will stay on the tree for a long time. The
orange tree produces large thorns, these can be removed as
they appear. The fruits are very heavy and you will need to
allow for this orange tree variety to be quite large and strong
to hold the weight of the fruit.

Navelina
Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
This variety of orange tree is vigorous, with large seedless
fruit of excellent quality which is ready for harvest in November.
The fruit contains a good quantity of juice. The orange tree
does not usually have thorns like the Washington
Navel. The fruits are very heavy and will need to allow
for this tree to grow quite large and strong to hold the weight
of the fruit.

Newhall
Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
This is a vigorous variety of Orange, almost indistinguishable
from the Navelina Orange, but the
fruit may have less juice than the Navelina. The fruit is
generally ready for harvesting in October. Not really suited
as a small tree because the size and weight of the fruit.

Lane
Late Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
The orange tree characteristics are indistinguishable from the
Washington Navel, but the rind of
the fruit is smoother than the Washington and there is less
limonin in the juice giving an even better flavour. The fruit
is later maturing and will stay on the tree for months in good
condition. Harvest is January. Again not really suited if you
desire a small orange tree because of the size and weight of
the fruit.

Navelate
Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
This orange tree is a spontaneous mutation from the Washington
Navel Orange tree, although slightly inferior. The oranges
are later maturing than the Washington Navel and will stay on
the tree for months in good condition. Harvest is December to
January. Again not really suited if you desire a small orange
tree because of the size and weight of the fruit.

Salustiana
Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
This variety is a seedless variety of the common orange. It
is vigorous, with medium sized, very juicy, high quality oranges
which are very sweet. The oranges will stay on the tree for
a long time in good condition and can be harvested after November.
This variety of orange tree produces large thorns which can
be removed as they appear.

Valencia
Late Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
This variety of orange is vigorous with medium to large fruit
which have a high juice content. It fruits late and harvest
is after March. The fruit will stay on the orange trees for
a few months in good condition. It does produce some seeds.
Valencia Late Oranges may produce a second crop if fed well,
but this may mean the following year there will be fewer fruits.
This variety is ideal for juicing.

Sanguinelli
Orange (Citrus sinensis / citrange carrizo)
The variety is vigorous the fruit itself is medium size and
the skin has a reddish pigment. The pulp will have a degree
of pigmentation dependent on the extent of exposure to low temperatures.
The pigment may vary from flecks of colour to deep purple, hence
the English name of 'blood orange'. The change of colour
will also change the flavour.
