Tangelo
Mineola
This citrus fruit is a cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine
with a distinctive and pronounced neck, very good colour and
very aromatic. It has thin skin, is easy to peel and very
juicy, but if harvested too soon will have less sugar and
more acidity and if pollinated, will be seedy. Harvest is
in February. The tree is very vigorous and may reach a large
size but is less cold resistant than other varieties.

Tangelo
Ortanique
This variety of tangerine tree is a cross between an orange
and a tangerine, with a distinctive aroma. Harvest is late,
during February and March, although the tangerine fruit will
stay on the tree in good condition past harvest and stores
well. The tree is vigorous and will spread reaching a good
size. The tangerine fruit will produce seeds if the flowers
are pollinated. The quality, sweetness and taste of the fruit
is good, but peeling the fruit can be difficult.

Tangelo
Murcott (Honey Tangerine)
This tangerine tree variety is vigorous, bushy in shape but
with willowy branches. The tangerine fruit is borne mainly
at the end of the branches and because of its high productivity,
it may sometimes cause the branches to break under the weight
of the fruit. The tangerine fruit is medium sized, but smaller
if the tree has overproduced. The rind is smooth and yellowish-orange
in colour and very thin, peeling cleanly. The fruit quality
is excellent, very high in sugar, giving a sweet distinctive
rich flavour. However, it has a great many seeds. Harvest
is very late April to May.

Mandarin
Fortune (Citrus reticulata / citrange carrizo)
This mandarin tree is vigorous, the mandarin fruit is medium
size, very juicy but slightly acid. This is a late variety
which is harvested in March. If too acid when the first sample
is picked, the remaining fruits should be left on the tree
a little longer when the acidity level will drop.

Mandarin
Nova (Citrus reticulata / citrange carrizo)
Clemenvilla is another name for this variety of Mandarin,
being a cross between the Fina and the Orlando. The tree is
vigorous and the mandarin fruit is medium to large for a mandarin.
This is a sweet, juicy, seedless variety which peels easily
and cleanly. Harvest is after December and the fruit should
be harvested when ready as the quality will deteriorate and
the fruit may split if left on the tree too long.
